World Subud Association END OF YEAR MESSAGE FROM OSANNA VAUGHN
Posted by Bradley
Thursday, December 22, 2005

Osanna Vaughn World Subud Association Chair writes:  As the holiday season progresses and we approach another new year, I want to wish you all much joy, blessings and peace in your lives and with your families, friends and fellow human beings!

Following its natural course, the intense energy of the world congress has flowed out into the world, working, I believe, its miracles in a thousand different places and situations. The life force that touches us through our latihan is a reality. We are aware of this to lesser or larger degrees, but that does not change the fact that it is real. It becomes clear to me that some times I acknowledge this and go through the day with a different kind of awareness; I feel more present and things seem to flow like '...a stream of water that, no matter what happens, it always finds its way.' Other times, I step outside myself and forget. This effort to acknowledge and give space to the great life force throughout my day is something only I can make; no one else can do it for me. We can, however, encourage and support each other. Since the Bali 2001 World Congress we have come a long way in achieving one of our goals at that time, namely, to have more large, international gatherings. These happened with a strong emphasis on kejiwaan and cultural activities. Other new efforts also arose, such as the YES Quests for youths. Social projects continued to grow. Finally, first initiatives were made in the international arena to rediscover what Bapak actually meant with the concept of enterprise; endeavour as many like to call it, to move away from the 'business only' mind-set. And we have come to understand that all these varied efforts are so closely intertwined that we can no longer see them as separate from each other. Even so, my impression is that we have not yet, as a whole, built a solid bridge between our individual latihan experience and our 'putting it into practise' in our daily lives........

Subud Youth Coming Soon to a Mailbox Near You! Snail Mail Across the Miles...
Posted by heidihitchcock
Wednesday, November 23, 2005

Attention All Youth and those who read youth news articles! I am sending out 4 cards by mail to various Subud young folk, from us young folk here in Vancouver BC Canada. Why, you may ask? And why is it News?...

I got this idea, to connect with other young folk, and since we don't want to wait for the next World Congress, and we're none of us rich enough to travel, this is the next best thing I can think of. And I'm telling you all because the idea is that these cards will be received and then mailed out again to more young folk, and so on and so on until they have been spread around to as many young folk as we can all find to mail them to. We're going to track them using subudlife.com, to see where they go and who receives them. So check in at the "Forums" part of the site to watch them travel! Also, if you hear of someone near you receiving one, write an update on the forum to let us know! Let's see if we can send them around the world! Love to all, Heidi

Subud International Cultural Association A GLIMPSE OF MY LIFE
Posted by Wade
Friday, November 18, 2005

Olivia Moyano, new SICA International Chairlady, writes from Buenos Aires

Hello!

I want to share a little part of my life with you.

The last 19th of September I exhibited my drawings in the Hermes shop windows in Buenos Aires, in the glamorous old quarter called "Recoleta".
I made special fashion drawings for the Hermes spring-summer collection of clothes and accesories. A lot of specialized fashion press and celebrities from the Buenos Aires art scene came to the opening cocktail.
There were seven drawings (five woman and two men), 1,70 mts in height - the size of normal people. I made them with a mixture of materials: oil, ink and pencil, on paper over wood. The exhibition lasted from the 19th of September to the 19th of October and it was a great success. Specially for me, because it was a very important step for my artistic career. And although I felt the stress (to fulfill some people´s expectations), I could always work with a feeling of happiness and butterflies flying in my heart.

A lot of love for you all,
Olivia

Posted by rachmanc
Friday, November 18, 2005
While events are fresh in my mind I would like to convey some of the things that went on at the Subud PNW retreat in Menucha this year.  For those who may not know, Menucha is a beautiful retreat center on the Columbia Gorge just east of Portland, Oregon, USA, where many Subud people meet every year in November to do latihan, testing, workshops and sharing and talking circles.

Posted by Bradley
Wednesday, November 02, 2005

Peter Jenkins writes:

Following the tremendous interest in the YES Quest programme at the recent World Congress, Quests have been scheduled for July, 2006, at La Source, in the French Pyrenees, and at the Seven Circles Retreat in Badger, California.

The YES Quest has been running for four years in Kalimantan and Australia, but never before in Europe or the US. The Quest Team is hoping to offer more programmes in more places, including Quests for those over 30 and specially designed programmes for teams and communities. They are also planning to take the Quest beyond Subud and into the world.

Full details of dates and costs for the Quests at La Source and Seven Circles will be announced very soon. In you are interested in taking part and would like to be on our participant email list, write to info@yesquest.org  and visit www.yesquest.org  for background on the YES Quest. You can check out La Source at www.lasourcepyrenees.com , and Seven Circles at www.sevencirclesretreat.org Both of these centres are owned and operated by Subud members.
